The goal: players in different browsers join the same world, band together into a tribe, and play against the world together. It is not in the game yet. This is where it stands.
The plan
The game's own simulation will run on a server that keeps the world, with the browsers sending what you do and receiving what changes near you. The world's terrain, road and contents are already generated the same way from the world seed on every machine, so only changes need to travel.
In stages
- Preparation. Nothing you see changes: the game's simulation is separated from its drawing.
- Co-op for small groups of friends. Invite links, a shared camp, homestead and settlements, riding landships together, reviving a mate.
- Persistent tribes. Accounts, tribe roles and permissions, shared storage, and a world that keeps turning while the tribe sleeps.
- Larger tribes after that.
Landships were made for this
One pilot at the helm, gunners on the weapon pads, and a crew on the decks: the landships are natural co-op vehicles, and they are being designed for it from the start.
We will share news here when there is something to play. Until then, the road is single player, free in your browser.
